Spam Millionaire

This is an old articla but i found it interesting .

1 out of 30,000
Relatively few people actually responded to Jaynes’ pitches.  In a typical month, prosecutors said during the trial, Jaynes might receive 10,000 to 17,000 credit card orders, thus making money on perhaps only one of every 30,000 e-mails he sent out.

But he earned $40 a pop, and the undertaking was so vast that Jaynes could still pull in $400,000 to $750,000 a month, while spending perhaps $50,000 on bandwidth and other overhead, McGuire said.

These 2 Domain Entrepreneurs are Rich

These 2 brothers are rich because they had foresight .

David said, “If you have the money, purchase the best domain name you can get your hands on.  But remember the golden rule: a domain name is only worth what you can do with it. We’ve turned down $5,000,000 for PalmSprings.com and didn’t think twice about it because we’ve monetized it so well.  However, in someone else’s hands, PalmSprings.com could have been parked or less developed and worth nowhere near as much. If you have the talent and vision to develop a generic mega-domain, please give people like us a call.

“Whatever you do, learn to trust your instincts. I will always be grateful that in the music business you have no choice but to trust your instincts. Way too many sharks in those waters. If you truly believe in something, go for it and let no one dissuade you. And if you’re wrong, so what!? Learn from your mistakes like everyone else. And if you’re right, there’s no greater satisfaction. Go for it. Otherwise, you’ll always be one of the sheep!” David declared.

David offered another secret of their company’s success. “We generate almost all of our revenue using static advertising rates. Static advertising is how traditional media makes their money. Magazine and newspapers charge a fixed rate based on ad size/placement and radio and cable charge a fixed rate based on time/placement. In 1997, I didn’t want to reinvent the wheel and the whole CPM/click-through method seemed like pennies on the dollar. I simply looked at traditional media and said, “These guys have it made. Why can’t we do that?”  Of course, everyone said I was crazy. But I persisted and that is the method CCIN utilizes today on its city sites. It is also the reason why the front page of PalmSprings.com alone generates nearly a million dollars a year in pure advertising revenue.” See the article  http://www.dnjournal.com/cover/2006/december.htm

The internets biggest Google Adsense Pros

This article talks about who is making money with Adsense .

Jeremy Shoemaker – $140,000 per month

adsensecheck1.jpg

If ever anyone can be considered an Internet marketing superstar, ShoeMoney would be near the top of the list. Jeremy Shoemaker is a search engine marketer who knows how to take advantage of both Google AdSense and AdWords. In the above photo, you see him with the biggest Google AdSense check he has ever received from Google. The income was earned back in the month of August 2005. Since then Mr. Shoemaker has moved to wire transfers. No doubt, he got tired to dealing with the bank tellers when trying to deposit $100K plus checks every month.

Unlike the other Google whores on this list, ShoeMoney, as he likes to be called, does not own just one site. He makes his enormous Google checks using hundreds of sites and thousands of domains.

The Internets biggest Affiliate Marketing Pros

Shoemoney is the King of Ringtones. He makes loads of cash converting PPC traffic into Ringtone Leads (Amongst other things). A respected industry Guru, Shoe has his own Radio Show and also appeared in John’s list of Google Whores. I reckon he’s making loads more on affiliate marketing than he is with Adsense.

The King of Ringtones site was a little experiment he did with Aaron Wall. He spent $1500 directing traffic to KingofRingtones.com and made a profit of nearly $9,000 (And he calls this pocket money). He currently owns around 10,000 domains and recently received a slap on the wrist for uploading 20 million keywords into a PPC engine. Find out more about Jeremy at his blog and over at seomoz.org.

Vendorseek.com – $3 MIllion a Year

The 35-year-old Wisneski now employs 10. VendorSeek.com’s most recent fiscal year saw $1.5 million in revenue, up from $1 million the year before. The company was profitable for the first time last year, Wisneski said, and he projects it will have close to $3 million in revenue in fiscal 2006.

Wisneski said vendors are drawn to his online service because it allows them to spend more time selling and less time looking for customers. “You’re dealing with customers who have placed a request, so your work is closer to the dollar,” he said. “Your sales cycle is improved. We get feedback from some vendors that this is by far the best return on investment of their marketing vehicles.”

3 Year Lulu.Com Makes $16 Million a Year

They have a smart biz model and they went with the long tail just like google . They have many many authors that each sell a few books versus a few authors that  each sell millions of books .

In just three years Canadian Internet entrepreneur Bob Young’s lulu.com has blossomed from nothing to a turnover of $16 million (8 million pounds) in 2006 and is now publishing 2,500 new titles a week by unknown authors from across the globe

Ordinary publishers are always looking for the next blockbuster. We are not,” he added. “They want 100 authors selling a million books each. We want one million authors selling 100 books each.”

Nervana.com – The Entrepreneur’s Tale

The unexpected commitment of cash capped nearly two years of struggle. Since leaving Microsoft in early 2001 to found his own company, Nosa Omoigui had burned through his Microsoft stock options, maxed out numerous credit cards, and faced foreclosure on his home — all to keep his startup alive.

His handful of employees had been working without pay, out of their homes, for months. They met once a week at Jitters, a Bellevue coffee house. Omoigui had given himself to the end of 2002 to secure outside money, or close up shop.
