The article is about Vocation Vacations, a business started by entrepreneur Brian Kurth that gives people the opportunity to "test drive" their dream jobs without having to quit their current day jobs. Participants pay anywhere from $300 to $2,500 to spend a few days immersed in an intense mentor/apprenticeship experience that pairs them with professionals in their fantasy job. Vocation Vacations currently has over 500 professionals on hand in a variety of fields, from winemakers and sword makers to race-care drivers and chocolatiers. One Vocation Vacation client, a former international banker, took his love of dogs and spent three days working with a dog trainer and two-and-a-half days with a doggie day-care provider, quickly realizing he had the confidence to start his own business in the canine field.
